At what position was the “Circle VP” for “Seen Proved” stamp placed on the underside of the barrel–adhering to the hefty load testing, the “VP” currently being used following the visual inspection in the barrel? The “VP” is uncovered on each 1892 and 1894 barrel I've found from the start to the top of production, bridging the day for the looks of the “WP”. Then why the addition in the “WP”—I admit I am no history buff, just curious concerning the reasoning for that “WP”.
